Aim and Mission
UVserva is a biannual, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the University Observatory Coordination Office (Coordinación Universitaria de Observatorios, CUO) of Universidad Veracruzana. Available exclusively in electronic format, the journal provides immediate, unrestricted open access to its content.
The journal aims to publish and preserve original scientific contributions of a demographic and interdisciplinary nature derived from observation, monitoring, data generation, and indicator construction produced by academic observatories, faculty members, researchers, students, and professionals affiliated with higher education institutions, research centers, public agencies, and civil society organizations.
To fulfill this mission, UVserva publishes data papers, methodological papers, original research articles, review articles, and case studies that contribute to the analysis and understanding of social, demographic, cultural, economic, environmental, educational, scientific, and technological phenomena.
Submitted manuscripts must aligh with one of the Universidad Veracruzana’s academic áreas:
- Arts
- Biological and Agricultural Sciences
- Health Sciences
- Economics and Business Administration
- Humanities
- Engineering and Technology
All submissions must be original, unpublished and represent a significant contribution to scientific knowledge, as well as strengthening of observation, monitoring, analysis and research practices.
Uvserva accepts manuscripts in Spanish, English, Portuguese or any indigenous languages spoken in the regions where Universidad Veracruzana operates. Manuscripts must be submitted in their final version, ready for editorial evaluation and peer review.
